"I didn't want to build modules (yet again) so we concentrated on VELO macro assembly (like we did for the VELO replacement).

I am also looking at longer term HVCMOS upgrades.

LHCb

upgrades

Is the flavour experiment at the LHC. It is a forwards spectrometer featuring a precision vertex detector (VELO) with which I have been involved since 1997. The first VELO operated from 2008-2018.

We are upgrading the VELO to a hybrid pixel detector. We designed the hybrids and Si for the module and most of the mechanics for the new VELO - with the exception of the beautiful new foil from Nikhef.
